1. Who sells Retriever
Retriever is sold by Antón López, a sole trader based in Spain (NIF [tax ID], [address]). You can reach me at [support email]. In these terms, "I" and "me" mean the seller; "you" means the person who buys or uses Retriever.
2. What Retriever is
Retriever is a Mac app for searching your own library of video, photos and audio by describing what you are looking for. Indexing and search run on your Mac: your files are not uploaded to me. The app contacts my servers only to manage your account, your license and updates.
3. Plans
- Free trial. 14 days with every feature. No card is needed and nothing is charged when it ends. One trial per Mac.
- Pro. A subscription, billed monthly or yearly, that includes every new version while it is active.
- Retriever 1. A one-time purchase that licenses major version 1 and all its 1.x updates, for as long as you use them. Later major versions are separate, optional purchases.
4. Your license
Buying a plan gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Retriever for as long as the plan is valid. It is for you, not to be resold, shared or sublicensed. You can use it on up to three Macs at a time; you can remove a Mac from your account in the app to free a place.
5. Prices and payment
Payments are processed by Stripe; We never see or store your card details. Prices include VAT where it applies, and any tax is calculated at checkout from your location. Prices may change in the future; a change never affects a period you have already paid for, and subscribers are told before a new price applies to their renewal.
6. Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel Pro at any time from your account (getretriever.app/account, or Settings ▸ Account in the app). Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for.
7. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. Retriever is digital content delivered immediately, so at checkout you are asked to agree to these terms, to request immediate access and to acknowledge that you lose that 14-day right once access starts. By completing the purchase with that box ticked, you waive the right of withdrawal as the law allows.
8. Refunds
Your rights under consumer law if Retriever does not work as described are never affected by these terms. Beyond that, if something is wrong with a purchase, write to [support email] and I will look at it case by case. A refunded purchase ends the license it paid for.
9. Warranty and liability
Retriever is provided as it is, and I cannot promise it will find every moment or be free of errors. Keep your own backups: Retriever reads your files and does not modify them, but no software is perfect. To the extent the law allows, my liability for any claim related to Retriever is limited to the amount you paid me in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Spanish or EU law, nor your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms; the date at the top says when. Changes apply to purchases and renewals made after they are published.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can bring a claim in its courts.
